The United States Postal Service issued an alert late on Friday afternoon, cautioning that some in the Hudson Valley will not be able to receive their mail as scheduled, due to “deteriorating conditions” in the area.

“Due to high winds and adverse weather conditions, and for the safety of our employees today, some postal customers may not receive mail on Friday,” USPS officials said in a statement. “All mail has been sorted and was ready to advance but deteriorating conditions in some parts of our region make travel and walking for deliveries unsafe.    Be assured we will assess conditions thoroughly on Saturday and we will resume all deliveries where it is safe to do so.”
